ATHLETE OF THE MONTH-TAMBRA TUFFORD

Tambra Tufford on right

CONGRATULATIONS TO TAMBRA TUFFORD-PATTINSON!!

Tambra was selected as November's Athlete of the Month!!

I have known Tambra for many years and she is not only an amazing athlete, incredible mother and wife, but she is also my best friend.

Let's get to know "T" a little better...

1. Date of Birth: May 30, 1976

2.Born and grew up in: Burlington, Ontario

3.Current Residence: Oakville, Ontario

4.Marital Status: Married to a wonderful man

5.Height:5'4

6. Weight: off-season: 118lbs Contest: 108lbs

7.Current occupation: Registered Nurse, mother

8.Favorite Hobby: Lifting weights, running (even though I'm not allowed too!!)

9.Favorite food: oatmeal and homemade hamburgers-not together though!

10.Favorite music: Listen to all kinds-depends on my mood.

11.Best body part: legs and calves

12.Years training: sport oriented all my life, but seriously lifting weights for 5yrs.

13.Email address: t.tufford@hotmail.com

14. How did you get interested in fitness/weight training: When I met Mindi, I was an aerobics instructor. I would lift weights, but I would overtrain doing a ton of cardio. Mindi began training me and I loved the challenge and instant gratification I would get after every workout. Mindi was truly my inspiration through her knowledge, dedication and demeanor.
15. How was your first show? Any interesting experiences? My first show is something that I will never forget. When I stepped out on stage I felt nervous, scared, excited and a big feeling of accomplishment. I competed with a great group of TEAMOBRIEN ATHLETES which help make my first experience competing a positive one.
16.What do you like or dislike about competing? Competing is such a subjective sport and trying to remain confident can become challenging sometimes. Also I am not a big fan of walking in 4-5 inch heels and trying to be sexy and graceful at the same time!
17. What are your future goals in the fitness industry? I just competed at the Ontario Natural Championships and I ended up winning my class. I was shocked and it was an amazing experience....I am currently still training hard, but am nursing some old injuries.
18.What do you see yourself doing in 10 yrs? I hope to be a more better, more experience version of me...
19. Any additional notes? Anyone you would like to thank? I would like to thank my husband, Jay for his constant support, patience and love everyday. Special thanks to Mindi & Dennis for helping me become the athlete that I am today.Without their knowledge, guidance and support, I never would have shown up in my bikini for posing practise 3 years ago.
20. Competition History: Ontario Naturals-2006-4th place
Ontario Naturals-2007-4th place
OPA level 1-3rd place in medium height class
Ontario Naturals-2009-1st in medium height class and 3rd overall
Great work T-mama!!!!
Love ya lady.....
